The Reflets Offer
A French method for older teenagers and adult beginners. It covers 120 to 150 hours of class and aims to acquire general communication skills (comprehension, speaking, and writing).
The result of extensive collaboration. Based on a survey of teachers from different countries, the Reflets method was developed by two specialists in teaching French as a foreign language, in conjunction with practitioners, each bringing expertise from a specific field.
Reflets reflects the current French context. The gradual introduction of vocabulary, grammar, and communication situations is provided through “History” units, short films of real-life situations, and “Project” units featuring a wide variety of documents. Students learn the language while discovering the behaviors and concerns of today’s French people, and receiving practical information.
A variety of learning tools. Recognizing that every student should be able to find the most effective methods and tools, the Reflets authors offer a wide range of teaching tools: texts and documents that enhance comprehension, grammar and vocabulary rules, exercises designed for reflection on the language or acquisition of automatisms, activities involving the reuse of objects, etc.
Reflets also offers classroom activities that allow for group work, whether individual or in small groups.
Reflets offers true flexibility. The independence of each double-page spread allows for selection based on interests and needs, creating potential opportunities for progress.
A constant invitation to oral or written production. Reflets are designed to engage students and stimulate discussions and cross-cultural encounters. In some lessons, all activities converge toward the individual or group completion of a project that is ambitious and within the learner’s capabilities.
